On The Road

17/04/10 – 6pm

Right, today is the day we left New York. I started by moving some prosthetic legs so I could get access to my bag so I could go have a shower, an odd start. After shower and breakfast we headed off taking the subway to Penn station then the NJ trains to South Amboy. We were picked up and taken to the car rental office where we signed our savings away, but we did get a HUGE car to drive round. I was expecting a people carrier with a mattress in the back but we got a big van with a mattress in the back, a table and couch in the middle then two seats in the front. Pretty epic.

We have just been to walmart to stock up on some essentials. My mum would have had a fit if she had seen the place. Cheap sugary foods etc is one thing but no fresh fruit or veg is unbelievable.

We are now on the road, heading relentlessly south towards Philadelphia at the moment.

Change that, we are now past Phili. We have been over the Delaware River and are trucking towards Baltimore and Washington.

We have been through the middle of Baltimore, pretty tight for such a large car. Pretty cool though, I wasn't driving at the time so wasn't so stressful :). We are now just outside Washington DC and are going to crash for our first night in a Wal-Mart carpark.
