05/06/10 update

reporting on 08/06/10

Our trip down took in Maine, New Hampshire and finally Massachusetts. We didn’t really stop for anything apart from the obligatory cache in each new state we went into. At the time we had no cash on us at all so we couldn’t take the toll road so had to go along the smaller highway 1 that goes through all of the towns on route. This was probably a nicer route, but took far longer. No particulars to really comment upon apart from the fact that New England is really nice. Mile upon mile of luch green countryside with cute little towns most of which in that typical Cape Cod style, which is a lot more attractive and interesting than the standard American house in other parts. A particularly nice example of a New England town was Ogunquit, I recognise the name but I have no idea where from. I was quite surprised how the outskirts of Boston were all in this typical Cape Cod style and didn’t really feel in any way connected with a large city. We stumbled upon an interesting historical area when driving around the north suburbs; Salem, location of the Salem witch trials. Despite the jaded history it was actually a really nice area.

Right, enough with the trip details and on to what’s really important: whilst at the McDonalds checking the internet I triple starred New Super Mario Bros DS, completing all levels, finding all secret exits and getting all star coins. Oh yes! I’m awesome!
